As we all know Nokia has released its first Android smart
phone series at MWC 2014 and also it is now said to host another event on 19
April 2014. Finnish manufacturer has yet
confirmed the event date.
Nokia is officially going to launch its very first Android
devices. These devices known as the X, X+ and XL. It is going to be launched on
the stage at its annual Mobile World Congress press conference. We were all
taken aback by the second device. So, it's incredible to see Nokia make such a
huge foray into competitors territory. The X features will have a 4-inch, 840 x
480 IPS screen, 4GB of storage expandable via microSD slot, 3-megapixel
camera and 512MB RAM. While the X+
sports the same specs but more RAM (768 MB) with included 4GB microSD
card. Google's apps or Play store are
not available for these series, however as both handsets will be based on the
forked AOSP Android OS. Advantages of the Android ecosystem is available in Nokia
with a differentiated experience. So far, Here Maps, Mix Radio, Skype and
Outlook are being featured on the Nokia Store. You can only access the Nokia
and third party stores using these devices, but not Google Play, obviously. We
have heard Swift Key will be available on the Nokia X range for free, as will
BBM, which is also coming to Windows Phone sometime in this summer.
The new devices are featuring a ported version of advanced
versions of Asha phones as a sort of skin, to give a similar experience as it
is as other budget handsets. You canswipe across it, it will bring up a sort of
notification bar showing recently used apps, texts and missed calls and other
activities. In demo, Elop showed both the Nokia Store also Yandex and he pulled
down Aero Express, it is a Russian-flavored app. The X will be available
immediately in growth markets (ie, not the US) and run 89 euros. Meanwhile, The
X+ will run 99 euros but won't arrive until sometime in Q2 this year.
XL - run on the new Nokia X software platform ant that is
also based on Google's Android. the Nokia XL packs a 5-inch screen, 5 megapixel
rear-facing, 2 megapixel front-facing camera and RAM (768 MB) with included 4GB
microSD card. It will be priced at 109 euros and be available in early Q2 2014.
Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core processor and are dual-SIM
specifications are available in these three devices. A wide range of
third-party apps pre-installed like including BBM, Viber, Vine, Plants vs Zombies 2 and Twitter.
Global apps are leading the apps world are available for the
Nokia X family at the launch of devices, including Facebook, LINE Bubble, LINE
Free Voice and Messages, LINE Camera, Picsart,
Real Football 2014, Skype, Spotify, Plants vs Zombies 2, Swiftkey,
Twitter, Viber, Vine and WeChat, among others and in a first for Nokia customers
around the world, BBM will also be available on the Nokia X family of devices
in addition to the Windows Phone.
The Nokia X+ and XL has the same chipset - a 1GHz dual-core
Snapdragon S4 with 768MB of RAM. The Nokia X is the only one with just 512MB of
RAM.
Don't make any mistake about it, this is not a
Google-certified project and thus the X phones don't run the Google Play
Services such as Chrome, Gmail and the play store. Microsoft and Nokia have
worked hard though to integrate their apps and core services.
Thus, Nokia new android phones going to bring a new
revolution in the android world.
